Justin Pearson
Justin Pearson is a cellist and director of the Locrian Ensemble. He is also an award-winning creator of shows which feature music and drama. His play about the life of Beethoven, "Genius Unleashed", won the Craher Drama Prize 2001. He was commissioned to bring the poignant life story of the last Italian castrato, Alessando Moreschi, to the stage in the autumn of 2002. It was premiered by the countertenor, Nicholas Clapton, at the Norwich Playhouse, in a show entitled "The Angel of Rome". Other works include "Thrilling the Angels", which examines the passionate relationship between Robert and Clara Schumann. "Stirring the Spirit" (2003) a play about the life and music of Edward Elgar, and played the West End (ICA), Edinburgh and Buxton Festivals, and many other venues, and has met with universal critical acclaim. Justin adapted the Roald Dahl book, "The Twits", for sell-out performances at Questors Theatre and at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, with the presenter, Henry Kelly. The show was reviewed as being "upsetting and scatological". The children loved it.
